JDinteractive classes are taught by experienced Syracuse University College of Law faculty. Students have the opportunity to learn from faculty who are leaders in their fields both in the self-paced class sessions and in live, online classes.
Faculty are also available to meet with students outside of class in office hours. The online juris doctorate program’s learning platform enables our faculty to use both established and innovative teaching methods.
In live classes, professors can use the full range of traditional law school teaching methods, including Socratic Dialogue. In self-paced sessions, professors can use a variety of interactive exercises to work each student through the lesson, providing ample opportunities for feedback along the way.
Syracuse’s deans and faculty members have been educated at some of the most prestigious legal institutions in the world. Their book knowledge is bolstered by years of practice in the legal trenches. They bring those real-world experiences directly to students.
Deans and faculty also are thought-leaders in a broad range of fields, such as intellectual property law, disability law, and national security law, and they are committed teachers and mentors who are dedicated to their students’ success. They get to know students as individuals, and they put students first.
